THE BLISS FACTOR
In 2018, I went on a journey to find alternative treatments for pain and anxiety to avoid surgery and opioids offered by the VA, and discovered a century-old science of how specific audio frequencies could mitigate my attachment to pain and relieve anxiety so my brain could focus on better things. Like composing music!
Called binaural beats, these frequencies create a state of bliss, where I am temporarily oblivious to my pain and have a calm mind. It helps me, and it could help you, too!
Realizing I could custom compose my own using my hardware synths, I have either recorded and/or crafted the mix of all the sounds for each flow-state track below.
How would I describe the listening experience?
As a simple way to achieve near-instant meditation.
THE SCIENCE
Music has long been known to influence our mood, either energizing us or promoting relaxation. Yet, when faced with pain, stress, anxiety, or insomnia, specific frequencies can swiftly alleviate these issues through proven sound therapy.
Binaural beats, distinct from stereo sound, were first observed in 1839. They occur when slightly different frequencies are delivered separately to each ear, prompting the brain to perceive a third, “beat” frequency.
This phenomenon leads the brain to synchronize with the beat frequency, safely influencing our mental state. It’s a practice called brainwave entrainment.
Brainwave activity, detectable since 1924 via EEG technology, shows that our brain operates at various dominant frequencies depending upon our state of mind – whether asleep, awake, relaxed, or stressed.
Through brainwave entrainment using binaural beats, we can harmlessly adjust our dominant brainwave frequency to reduce stress, enhance focus, induce relaxation, and even aid in quicker sleep onset —within just 10-20 minutes.

Brainwave Frequencies
We Can't Live Without Them!
Gamma Brainwaves 30-140Hz
There’s not as much research in this area, but brainwaves have been measured in the 30-140Hz range. These are the highest operating frequencies of the brain, probably associated with hyper-vigilance during extreme sporting experiences or driving a car. I wouldn’t recommend seeking to change your brainwaves into this range with binaurals, as it might cause you severe anxiety. Some people with chronic anxiety may have too much of this type of brainwave, and that’s why we want to bring you down from here.
Beta Brainwaves 12-30Hz
This range spans from the edge of being awake yet relaxed at 12Hz to a hyper-focused and alert state at 30Hz. I won’t provide any flow-state audio above 20Hz, since most people will be using these more to relax or chill out. Closer to 16Hz gets you amped to concentrate on getting things done, solving problems, and learning. Between 16-20Hz works great when preparing for a peak-performance workout.
Alpha Brainwaves 8-12Hz
At the low end of this range, you’d feel calm, relaxed, and tranquil. You might be sitting at your desk and daydreaming. In the upper range, you’d be more creative and alert while still feeling relaxed. You would be somewhere in this range if you were sitting and thinking, reading, painting, meditating, or creating in the flow.
Theta Brainwaves 4-8Hz
Now we’re getting into serious chill-factor territory. This is the range that provides maximum bliss while still awake. From a low of 4Hz to a high of 8Hz, we’re talking drowsiness, day-dreaming, deep meditation, trance states, creative thought, and mental visualization. You may be sleepy or lightly napping, have your eyes closed, be resting and calm, and be experiencing deep relaxation.
Delta Brainwaves .5-4Hz
This is where our brains live when we’re in restorative deep sleep and our body’s cells are being repaired. At 0.5Hz, you’d be totally unconscious without dreams and our brains are basically shut down. Coming up from there, you’d experience lucid dreaming, subconscious problem-solving, and maybe pain-free drowsiness at 4Hz.
EDUCATIONAL CHECKPOINT
This track demonstrates the difference between a Binaural Beat (two different tones, one in each ear) and an Isochronic Beat (a single tone that turns on and off quickly in both ears).
Binaural Beats are considered more old-school for brainwave entrainment. Isochronic beats are more modern and work faster. I create a blend of both.
Bottom line: Binaurals work best with headphones only, and Isochronics will work with headphones but also work great on stereo speaker systems.
This 60-second example also illustrates the distinction between the frequency of the tone and the frequency of the beat, as well as how to distinguish between binaural beats and isochronic tones.
These aren’t subliminal; if you can’t hear the beat, then it won’t work. A lot of charlatans out there will sell you massage parlor music and overhype “subliminal” sound therapy frequencies. Don’t let them fool you. After you hear this, you’ll never be fooled by those lies again.
Take a listen, and you’ll immediately hear and understand the truth in the sounds. Every BinauChron™ on this page adheres to this principle, and each one is meticulously crafted.

METICULOUSLY CRAFTED SOUND THERAPY
HEADPHONES -OR- STEREO SPEAKERS (L+R) are required for any effectiveness.
Single-ear applications will not work (such as: single earpods or single monospeakers – those will not work).
Subwoofers, body Woojers, and low-end thumpers are encouraged for full immersion.
16Hz BETA Waves To Get AMPED
Honestly, I don’t usually listen to beats this high (16Hz). I normally use the Theta tracks to relax and mitigate pain (8Hz and below). Personally, I’ve found that listening with earbuds to these low-frequency beats at a surprisingly louder volume – one that feels like the phatt bass is tickling the base of my brain – lulls me away from all my pain and anxieties within about 10-20 minutes.
But we can stay focused and charged up using 12-16Hz beats while doing almost anything. I might listen to the 12Hz track from below on my speakers to stay focused while building this website – rather than listening to a Spotify playlist (which is distracting).
Even if only temporarily, these things can mitigate the onset of panic – for me, that is. Afterall, I am promoting these for mitigation of pain, anxiety, stress and insomnia!
If you’re still interested in the intensity of a 16Hz track, one is provided below.
Find one that WORKS FOR YOU! Just remember to BREATHE!
12Hz ALPHA Waves To FOCUS
USE: Headphones or earbuds work best for maximum effect, but stereo speakers are okay.
Select this for relaxed focus, creative flow, and mental clarity. The 12Hz binaural beat targets Alpha brain waves and is centered at the frequency of 206Hz , which is the highest tone in the track if you listen for it. To add weight, there are also pure sine wave tones at 51Hz and 103Hz to create a pumping bass. ASMR sound effects are added about halfway through.
This BinauChron™ can help you with mental stability and centering. For instance, you could listen to this while studying, planning your goals or working on a project. Towards the end, a 6Hz binaural beat is introduced to perhaps help stimulate long-term memory and creative visualization.

8Hz THETA Waves To CHILL
Look, there are a lot of binaural beats and stuff out there especially on YouTube. The beauty of what I engineer is the fact they are crafted. That’s why I’ve trademarked them BinauChrons™. From beginning to end, the story changes. It requires an attention span to get started. But once started, after 3 minutes, it would be inadvisable to stop listening… because it’s always changing. This one is pretty chill. Relax!
Listener beware, if you have Attention Deficit – you may already have too much Theta, and this might make it worse instead of better. Anyone with ADD, you’ll want more Alpha and less Theta!
USE: Headphones or speakers. Assumption: you can hear or feel the deep bass. Select this for calm, relaxation, tranquility, and day dreaming — or when waking up. You either go up or come down from here. You need to let it work, settle into your bones. Turn it up on good speakers to the same loud volume at which you’d enjoy your favorite music in the car. The more bass you can feel, the more solid of a connection you’ll make with the beats and rhythm. Give it time to do its job; this is a very short demo at only 7 minutes. If you like this, you’d love my 50-60 minute extensions of these tracks. ENJOY.
Cosmos Chill 8Hz+2Hz w/Heartbeat
HOW TO USE: Headphones or earbuds work best. This track was specifically optimized to work great with Woojer gear. It’s especially therapeutic when used with the Woojer Mat.
BENEFITS: It may help you temporarily forget your chronic pain and anxiety, just chill out and relax, or enter a creative flow state.
DESCRIPTION: This is a near-30-minute sonic journey has dual cosmic drones. The first drone’s high frequencies rise and fall in slow waves, while the panning of a second drone moves between left and right. This helps facilitate brainwave entrainment even faster. The track ramps down in speed from 140 beats to 120 beats per minute to help slow your heart and breath, with 8Hz binaural beats at 130Hz, the ticking of a clock to provide 2Hz isochronic beats, and a heartbeat rhythm bass drum that fires the transducers in a Woojer or Subwoofer. Just remember to BREATHE! (FREE DOWNLOAD).
4Hz DELTA Waves For BLISS
USE: For maximum effectiveness, headphones or earbuds are recommended.
I create more 4Hz tracks to help with my own pain and anxiety, so let’s start with this one. It features some blissful waves rolling up on the shores of Ambergris Caye, Belize, as recorded in 2002, on the same morning this photo was taken. Listen to achieve a deep sense of bliss, to calm your nervous system, and reduce stress or anxiety. Dual binaurals combine at 80Hz and 40Hz on the 4Hz beats.
At 20 minutes long, this track will transport you into a state of tranquility, allowing you to daydream, travel through your memories of time, and experience a sense of relief.
Please, listen with your earbuds while lying down and focus on your breathing. Enjoy!
4Hz DELTA Waves For PAIN
USE: Headphones or earbuds for maximum effectiveness.
This is an aggressive track, sonically. Use it for deep meditation, subconscious problem solving, plus effective pain, anxiety, and fatigue mitigation. It may help with falling asleep, but due to the nature of the changing background ASMR, it might lull you into a dream state and then pop you back out again.
This track will take you on a journey into a subterranean cave, across a windy prairie, inside a crackling fireplace, submerged underwater, and ends with a choral surprise – across 5 stages of transformation.
Several controlled studies suggest that the binaural frequency of 4Hz can help your brain more readily utilize molecules that reduce the sensation of pain as a natural analgesic. The frequencies making up the phatt binaural beats start at 60Hz, transition to 50Hz, and then down to 40Hz at the end, which is really deep bass. If you can’t hear or feel the bass frequencies, it won’t work for you.
Please, listen with your earbuds while lying down and focus on your breathing. Enjoy!
4Hz DELTA Waves For SLEEP
USE: Headphones or earbuds for maximum effectiveness. This can help you get to sleep, take a power nap, or fall into extreme drowsiness. The binaural beat frequency starts at 104Hz and slowly dives to 40Hz over the course of the track. If you can’t hear the bass beats throbbing in your brain, it won’t work. Focus on the crickets and your breathing and I can almost guarantee you will wish this track was a whole lot longer! Enjoy this one laying down with your eyes closed for sure.
3-6-12Hz Binaural Frogs
USE: Headphones or earbuds work best. What do you get when we combine Alpha, Theta, and Delta waves? With 3Hz, 6Hz, and 12Hz combined, plus an ASMR background of frogs in a swamp with water flowing, this will create a sense of focused calm. And at 30 minutes long, you will feel awake and relaxed at the same time by 10 minutes into it… and might fall asleep before it’s over. But I doubt it. Enjoy your imminent long stare! (FREE DOWNLOAD)
16Hz Binaural Isochron™
THIS IS AN ADVANCED TRACK. IT IS VERY INTENSE AND WILL AMP YOU UP FOR A WORKOUT.
HOW TO USE: Headphones or speakers. Listen right before your workout | NOT FOR USE: not while working out (there’s another one for that), not while relaxing, driving, or sleeping | Amost 20 minutes long | 16Hz is said to help with the release of oxygen and calcium into your cells | It may also help you temporarily forget about chronic pain… and time. It makes me want to go running. I hate running!
NOTE: If you feel stressed or anxious while listening to this, please stop listening. | This track ramps up your brain to a primary operating frequency of 16Hz in preparation for peak performance workouts, and assumes you’re not already amped up!
This BinauChron™ build of intensity has a 16Hz binaural at 134Hz all the way through | The Isochronic beats start from 9Hz at the beginning and increase to 16Hz | Ramping up the isochronic beat intensity from 40% to 90%, becoming more isochronic and intense! | There’s a heartbeat rhythm all the way through to provide tempo | And a ticking clock that speeds up from 140bpm to 240bpm to increase your endorphins, if you can take it! Just remember to BREATHE! Eventually, this flow-state track will help you completely forget about time and GET INTO THE FLOW (FREE DOWNLOAD). Did you read all that? Go back and read it while you’re listening!

15 CHAKRA MANTRA DRONES
I’m not a Chakra guru. But I am a multidimensional creator (according to ChatGPT). And yet, I was skeptical of Chakra frequencies. Binaural beats and modulated sound in general (at brainwave frequencies), as a healing therapy method, are backed by a lot of science. Chakra frequencies, although steeped in thousands of years of Hindu tradition, don’t have nearly as much scientific study.
Then came Christmas 2024. My daughter had selected a book from my long-forgotten Amazon “save for later” list. That gift of a book helped me connect Western science with those thousands of years of Hindu tradition. It became a rabbit hole of infinite fascination for me. The reason being: we can all agree that a resonance frequency amplified loud enough can shatter a wine glass. If you haven’t seen it, look it up. That visual alone (and it’s 100% real) entices me to the idea that our bodies have particular resonance frequencies, too. Right?! Not that I’d want to try to shatter anything in my body, though!
SO… I created these relaxing 5-minute drones, each of which has one of the 15-chakra Solfeggio system tones. Each tone features a 4Hz binaural beat designed for deep relaxation and meditation, accompanied by calming or energizing background sounds. Since there’s no music, you can simply chill and experience near-instant meditation. Afterall, that’s what it’s really about for me.
If you want to feel POWERFUL in just 5 minutes, try Chakra15 at the bottom of this list. It’ll knock your socks off. (ASSUMPTION: You have a subwoofer, a body Woojer, or some other method to hear or feel the bass). But if you want to feel GROUNDED, start with Charka01 – you won’t want to take your body out of it! Everything and in between is a sonic journey in custom and careful sound design.
