Mile High Mastering is located in Parker, Colorado, a southeast suburb of Denver, and managed by Les Konley, a certified mixing and mastering engineer, composer, full-stack producer, and artist with 28 years of music production experience.
IN-THE-BOX MIXING & MASTERING
We mix and master at 24bit/48KHz, and the 64-bit internal precision affords immense headroom, near-zero noise floors, and superior transparency during complex, multi-stage processing. The saturation, warmth, and nonlinear responses which are characteristic of analog gear can be emulated with such precision these days that most folks can’t discern the difference. Does a $50,000 outboard analog mastering chain make a difference versus in-the-box (ITB) mixing and mastering? Sure. Does it justify the cost differential? It’s difficult to form an objective conclusion about that.
We have a shedload of 64-bit processing plugins to address all the saturation, distortion, reverb, delay, EQ, compression, and limiting you could ever want. And we know how to use all of them well.
MONITORING CHAIN
Our RME Fireface 802 mastering-grade reference-class AD/DA converter features RME’s renowned jitter-immune SteadyClock. The advantages of which include a more precise and stable stereo image, allowing for better placement and separation of instruments in the sound field; enhanced high-frequency clarity, better definition and detail, more accurate bass reproduction, reduced distortion and noise, and a pristine transparent conversion, allowing the true character of the source to be heard cleanly and without any added sonic artifacts.
This drives a vintage 200 watts-per-channel analog monitoring system with a high-performance 10″ powered subwoofer for effectively managing low-frequency content. In a room acoustically treated specifically for mastering with SoundID Reference calibration for a flat frequency response at the mixing desk.

STEREO MASTERS
You get more than just mastering; Les provides almost everything you need to secure your legacy. Get your music pro-sounding with Radio- and TV-ready sync masters that Music Supervisors love to license.
Les is impeccable with details and verbose with his communication. He’ll work with you to ensure your final mix is ready for mastering and may push back if necessary.
Mastering your stereo mix for a single release can be done with a 72-hour turnaround for 100/song (incl. max of 3 revisions).
Also, Les Konley can master your entire EP, treating the collection as a single body of work rather than a series of independent tracks. After understanding the vision for your project, it’s a 7-day turnaround for album up to 12 tracks in length.
MIX & MASTER
TIER 2: STEM MATERING
You provide the stems for each group of instruments and vocals without final compressors or limiting. 150/song. Any processing done on your side that defines the character or atmosphere of the tracks should be baked in.
For instance, you can provide 10 stems that include: drums, cymbols, percussion, bass, electric guitars, acoustic instruments, keys, lead vocals, backing vox, and ad libs.
TIER 1: MIX & MASTER
Les Konley can craft a more balanced final mix and master than possible from a final mix done in an untreated room. For between 220-350/song, we are not intimidated by 60- or 70-track songs to mix and master – so bring it! We’ll work closely with you to help usher your finished project into the world!
TV-READY LEGACY
